I am a local mortgage lender and third-generation Colorado native. I consider myself to be a truth teller, an educator, and a “project manager” when it comes to helping to facilitate the mortgage loan transaction.
I take pride in being honest, available, dependable, and highly competent. As a prior accountant, I can work through the complexities of self-employed business owners, investors, and first-time home-buyers. One of my priorities is to make the loan process as smooth and simple as possible.
Mortgage companies, banks, and lenders come and go, especially when interest rates are low. Choosing a lender you know has stood the test of time and will give you honest answers, low rates, and outstanding personal service is crucial. I know there are many lenders to choose from, and I would be honored and grateful for the opportunity to work with you as you achieve your homeownership dreams.
I also believe in working with all my clients to provide them with a real estate loan that is best suited for their specific needs and goals. The mortgage market changes daily, and I have the experience, willingness, and expertise to adapt to updated policies and procedures.
Work With A Denver Native
I am a third-generation Colorado native. My grandfather, born in Arvada, Colorado, was a Navy veteran. I was born and raised in Southeast Denver, near Observatory Park, and graduated from Denver Lutheran High School. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
I married my high school sweetheart, and we purchased our first home in South East Denver in 1987. My respect for my mother and her belief in the value of real estate encouraged us to buy a rental property in that area. Through those early investments, I learned about the home-buying process. I am a proud father of three daughters that were all married within a few months in the same year. I now have four grandchildren, soon to be five. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and being in the outdoors.
Over the years, I have held many real estate and mortgage loan origination positions. My first job after graduation from college was with an accounting firm connected to an HOA condo management company. I then transitioned into mortgage loan origination with a local bank in July of 1993. I quickly learned of their limitations when some of my colleagues went to work for a mortgage broker. I decided to make the change as well.
In the summer of 1995, I opened my own mortgage broker business. Since then, I have watched the industry change dramatically, especially after the financial collapse and great recession of 2008. I have learned many things throughout my career as I was able to see firsthand the behind-the-scenes of the mortgage industry and how each business model responded.
Because of these experiences, I firmly believe that working with a local, independent mortgage broker is the best mortgage option for the consumer.
Growing up and residing in Colorado has provided me the insight into the area, which allows me to offer recommendations based on your desires and budget. I can help you evaluate considerations that span far beyond the price of your home so that you can make the best investment.
Being locally based and well-connected in the mortgage industry means I also have long-standing relationships with real estate agents, title companies, and insurance agents. I can leverage these relationships to help you through every step of the home-buying process and ensure your needs are met.
Most importantly, working with a local mortgage broker means we can meet face-to-face as often as you need throughout this process. This personal connection makes the home-buying experience less intimidating and stressful. In my 30 years of originating mortgage loans, I have worked with banks, credit unions, non-bank mortgage companies, and as an independent mortgage broker. By being a part of each of these, I have learned that being an independent mortgage broker gives my clients the best advantage.

This is not a marketing slogan, it’s the truth. Fewer hands in the cookie jar lead to lower overall overhead, which I pass on to consumers in the form of low rates and low fees. I also partner with wholesale lenders who have lower rates than their competitors. Because I have many options, the competition helps lower the rates and fees.
I will guide you through the entire process.
My clients only deal with me from start to closing (and this lasts years after the closing). Realtors, title companies, and Insurance agents deal with me directly. I know the status of every client’s file at all times. The process is to be as quick as possible. If need be, I will turn down business to avoid delays in closing for my current clients. Reputation and client satisfaction is more important to me than profits.

My goal is to know and use the latest technology to streamline and have a systematic workflow to create efficiency for every loan while, at the same time, maintaining flexibility. Each client is unique and thinks and processes differently. Each client is an individual with unique desires and goals. My goal is to maintain a balance of both efficiency and flexibility.
